With Movie: Star Wars Episode I – The Phantom Menace

The beginning of Star Wars movie

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....

Star Wars Episode I is the fourth work of the Star Wars series and the first story of the series, which was newly introduced 17 years after the first work (Episode IV) was released. This episode did the best at the box office, even though it received harsh reviews from critics. I was totally impressed by the affection of Americans since moviegoers who lined up from dawn wore the outfits of Star Wars.

Let's check out the movie's main characters now. Anakin Skywalker, who is a little boy and has the most powerful force, appears as a Savior of Galaxy through training from Qui-gon Jinn and Obi-wan Kenobi. Anakin is a father of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia, and he becomes Darth Vader. Obi-wan Kenobi, who is the apprentice of Qui-gon Jinn and a Jedi Knight, is performed by Ewan McGregor, but this casting received huge attention as an unusual thing. Obi-wan raises Luke Skywalker as a Jedi Knight but sacrifices his body at fighting with Darth Vader and his soul keeps on helping Luke. Qui-gon Jinn, who is played by William John Neeson “Liam Neeson”, newly appears on episode I, finding the potential of Anakin Skywalker and helping him to grow as a Jedi with Obi-wan. Queen Amidala, played by Natalie Portman, also newly appears in episode I. Furthermore she is the lover of Anakin and Luke’s mother.

Many universal creatures appear on this episode as well. Also, various kinds of materials were used for this episode like rubber masks, body suits, remote-controlled dolls. One of the most interesting things is that young Yoda, who is the most popular character in series, was produced but they could use stuffs which they had used on episode V (The Empire Strikes Back) because most materials were well preserved.

Bad guys of the Trade Federation plot against the Republic of Galaxy

The story of this episode is very rough. The Republic of Galaxy is faced with difficulties of the tax issue which relates to trade routes among planets in Galaxy. To solve this problem, the council of Republic assigns two Jedi Knights, who are called protectors of peace in Galaxy. Finally, Jedi Knights and a young boy, Anakin, come together and bring peace to the Galaxy.

While watching this episode, I could feel the speed of races like reality and also the Lightsaber, which is Jedi Knight's unique weapon, fighting scenes were just more spectacular than any SF action movies. I can guarantee that there are a lot of attractions in this movie such as the fantastic debate room of council, Jedi headquarter planet, large-scale of war scenes and etc.
